Tranzit - Kommentár

Quarterly public and cultural magazine

The Kommentár Foundation was created in 2005 to provide a forum in the spirit of "community, tradition, and freedom". As a result, the Kommentár journal was born in the first days of 2006. After publishing more than 90 issues, it is still an authoritative intellectual base in Hungarian public thought.

Strengthening dialogue on the most important issues affecting public life is one of the Foundation's priorities. To this end, in December 2009 we launched the Tranzit Event Series, which brings together cultural, scientific, public and economic actors who are seeking responses to the challenges of the 21st century and those who can help. With a steadily growing number of participants, Tranzit has grown to a community of thousands and has become Hungary's largest public events series.

Drawing on the experience of these conferences, we created a Tranzit public education programme in 2016, which aims to bring together young people in higher education. Engaging young people with an interest in public affairs in joint thinking and action concerning the future of the country is a key priority for us. The series has already provided opportunities for hundreds of young people. Due to the high interest, we are constantly expanding our sessions.

What is Tranzit?

Is it a community, a discussion forum, a company of friends, or fun? It is all in one. A place for doers. Join us, we're looking forward to seeing you.
