The Esztergom Center For Vocational Education and Training (ESZC) currently encompasses three long-established schools in Esztergom: Balassa Bálint Economic Technical and Vocational School Bottyán János Technical School Géza Fejedelem Technical and Vocational School The ESZC was founded on August 1, 2020, and is currently the youngest major institution in Hungary’s national vocational training network. Its enrollment area extends beyond Esztergom and its surroundings to include more distant parts of Komárom-Esztergom County, the northern regions of Pest County and Budapest, as well as students arriving from Nógrád County and even southern Slovakia (Felvidék). The center's goal is to improve and develop the quality of vocational training, and to expand the range of sectors and professions taught locally for all generations. It is essential that development efforts are based on well-founded data and real labor market needs, rather than being driven by the inertia of large bureaucratic systems. A key pillar of ESZC’s strategy is to establish strategic partnerships with major companies in the Esztergom region, with the aim of implementing dual training on the widest possible scale. Existing collaborations—such as with Suzuki Hungary Zrt., TE Connectivity Kft., PEMÜ, Richter Gedeon Nyrt., Zoltek Zrt., among others—serve as models for this approach. Uniquely in both the region and the country, 18 companies have joined forces with the Vocational Training Center to establish the Danube Bend Tourism and Hospitality Sectoral Training Center Nonprofit Ltd. (DÁKK), a flagship initiative in sector-specific vocational education.
