Katalin Valentínyi is the Deputy CEO for Corporate Communications and Government Relations at Budapest Airport, where she has led strategic communications since 2019. With nearly three decades of experience in the communications field and over 17 years in public relations, she is also the airport’s chief spokesperson. Her leadership has been instrumental in strengthening the airport’s brand, especially through award-winning campaigns and crisis communication during major events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and recent disruptions in European aviation.
Before joining Budapest Airport, Valentínyi held key governmental roles, including as a ministerial advisor at the Ministry of Innovation and Technology and head of communications at the Ministry of National Economy. Her career began in journalism, working for major outlets such as Magyar Rádió, Magyar Nemzet, and various online media platforms. This diverse background across media, government, and corporate sectors has equipped her with a deep understanding of both internal and external communication dynamics.
Valentínyi’s work has earned widespread recognition, with her team winning 19 domestic and international awards in a single year, including accolades from IPRA and In2 Sabre. She is consistently ranked among the top PR professionals in Hungary and is a passionate mentor, regularly speaking at universities and conferences on crisis communication, emerging trends, and women in leadership.
