Sebastian Kurz is a former Austrian Federal Chancellor and now founder, investor, and advisor focused on Europe and the Middle East. Born in 1986, he began his political career early while studying law at the University of Vienna, joining the youth wing of the Austrian People's Party and later becoming its leader.
His rapid political ascent saw him enter the federal government as State Secretary for Integration in 2011. Following the 2013 legislative election, he became the youngest foreign minister in Austrian history. In May 2017, he took over the party leadership as chairman of the Austrian People's Party and led a successful election campaign that brought the People's Party back to victory for the first time in 11 years.
In December 2017, Sebastian Kurz became the youngest Chancellor in Austrian history and was at that time also the world's youngest head of government. During his tenure, he focused on increasing the efficiency of public administration while promoting social equality. His government introduced major reforms in the business and social sectors to create a more investment-friendly environment in Austria, including wide-ranging tax reforms to support the middle class and families while addressing climate change through increased CO2 emission taxes.
On the international stage, Sebastian Kurz enhanced Austria's traditional role as a bridge between East and West and was a strong supporter of the European perspective for Western Balkans countries.
After leading his party to two election victories, he left politics in December 2021 and transitioned to the private sector. He now works as an international advisor with SK Management, a Vienna-based consulting firm. In 2023, he co-founded Dream, an AI Cyber Security startup, together with Shalev Hulio and Gil Dolev, which has since achieved unicorn status.
Sebastian Kurz remains politically active on a voluntary basis as a member of the IDU Honorary Advisory Board, the International Advisory Council of GLOBSEC, and the Honorary Advisory Council of the Abraham Accords Peace Institute, where he helps sustain and expand the Abraham Accords.
