Elek Nagy graduated in 1977 from the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest. Later, he completed a joint Master of Business Administration program by the Institute for Continuing Education of the University of Economics and the London Business School, earning a second degree. He has lived in Hungary since 1980.
He has been managing his own companies since 1989, now operating within the Lexholding Zrt. group. He has gained executive experience in construction, passenger transport, real estate, and art trading–pawn lending.
Since 2009, he has served as the Honorary Consul of the Principality of Monaco.
He actively supports Hungarian cultural initiatives beyond Hungary’s borders as a patron.
In 1994, he contributed to the revival of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which he has chaired since 2018. During his leadership, the chamber’s prestige has significantly increased.
In addition to his native language, he speaks English, French, German, Romanian, and Italian.
