Gábor Móczár is a cultural leader and engineer with extensive experience in heritage management, cultural diplomacy, and public service. He earned his degree in mechanical engineering from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and later completed postgraduate studies in cultural management at ELTE. He co-founded and served as Deputy Director of Fiorentini Hungary Ltd. and played a key role in transforming the Teleki–Wattay Castle in Pomáz into a cultural center. From 2002 to 2021, he held local government roles in Telki, including Chair of the Education and Culture Committee and Deputy Mayor.

Deeply engaged in the choral music scene, Móczár performed with the Budapest Monteverdi Choir and founded the International Monteverdi Choir Festival. He has served on the board of the Association of Hungarian Choirs and Orchestras since 2003, led the Hungarian office of the European Choral Association (2006–2016), and was its President from 2012 to 2018. He was instrumental in organizing major events such as Pécs Cantat 2010 and EUROPA CANTAT Pécs 2015. He also contributed to cross-border cultural cooperation while serving as Director for International Relations at Zsolnay Heritage Management Nonprofit Ltd. (2015–2019).

In 2016, he was awarded the Hungarian Gold Cross of Merit for his contributions to culture. Fluent in English, German, and Italian, with conversational skills in French and Russian, he brings a multilingual, international perspective to his work. Since March 2021, he has served as Director General of the Institute of National Heritage.
