Dr. Áron Máthé, PhD, is a historian and sociologist who has served as Deputy Chair of the Committee of National Remembrance since 2014. He began his professional career at the House of Terror Museum, where he worked from 2001 to 2012 as a staff member, researcher, and later as department head. During this period, he played a key role in shaping both permanent and temporary exhibitions, contributing significantly to the museum’s content and public impact.
Between 2012 and 2014, Dr. Máthé worked as a researcher and analyst at the Századvég Foundation. Beyond his contributions to the House of Terror Museum, he was involved in the development of other historical institutions, including the Holocaust Museum in Hódmezővásárhely and the Emlékpont Museum, helping to preserve and present critical aspects of Hungary’s 20th-century history.
His published work reflects a deep engagement with topics related to political persecution, memory politics, and Hungarian history.
