Ernő Kárpáty is the founder and main organizer of the Hajómalom Festival. He has been a member of the Gúta City Council since 2014 and has served as Deputy Mayor of Gúta since 2022.

A 3rd DAN judo coach and former national team competitor for ten years, he has been president of the Gúta Judo Club since 2014. The club, with a history spanning more than 50 years, currently has over 100 members.
