Dr. Kaleab Tadesse Sigatu is an expert in defense and security, parliamentary affairs, and the IGAD sub-regional organization. He currently serves as the Director of BRIDGE Research and Innovation for Democratic Governance and Enhanced Peace, an Ethiopian-based think tank. Additionally, he is an Adjunct Assistant Professor and Researcher at the FDRE Defence War College, where he also founded and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Ethiopian Defence Journal of Strategic Studies and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Ethiopian Journal of Political Science.
Dr. Sigatu's expertise is sought internationally, evident in his conference presentations and teaching visits across civilian and military institutions in Ethiopia, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Germany, and Czechia. His research interests and publications span the constitutional history of Ethiopia, parliament, peace support operations, foreign policy, Security Sector Reform (SSR), Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC), military doctrine, defense policies, and peace and security issues in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa, with a particular focus on institutions such as EASF, IGAD, NATO, AFRICOM, UN Department of Peace Operations, and the AU Peace and Security Council.
