Zsolt Hernádi is a distinguished Hungarian business leader and economist with decades of experience in the financial and industrial sectors. Between 1989 and 1994, he held various positions at Kereskedelmi és Hitelbank Rt. (Commercial and Credit Bank), serving as Deputy CEO from 1992 to 1994. He was CEO of Magyar Takarékszövetkezeti Bank Rt. (Hungarian Savings Cooperatives Bank) from 1994 to 2001 and a member of its Board of Directors until 2002. From 1995 to 2001, he was also a member of the Board of the Hungarian Banking Association.
Since 2001, Hernádi has been a member of the European Round Table of Industrialists, contributing to high-level dialogue on European competitiveness and industrial strategy. His achievements have been recognized through numerous honors, including the title of Honorary Citizen of Esztergom (2007), Százhalombatta (2016), and Miskolc (2019). He was also named Honorary Citizen of Corvinus University of Budapest in 2009 and was appointed Honorary Professor there in 2018.
In recognition of his public service and leadership, he received the Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary (civil division) in 2010. In 2017, he was elected a member of the National Competitiveness Council. Since 2019, he has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Maecenas Universitatis Corvini Foundation, the maintaining institution of Corvinus University of Budapest.
