Balázs Hankó began his career as a resident pharmacist at Semmelweis University, where he later served as Chief Pharmacist and subsequently as Vice-Rector for Strategy and Development. With more than twenty years of experience in higher education, he has been a professor of pharmacy at Semmelweis University since 2023. In addition to his academic career, he has held key roles in governmental healthcare and education administration. He worked as a pharmaceutical advisor, then as a ministerial commissioner from 2017, Deputy State Secretary from 2020, and State Secretary from 2022, overseeing higher education, innovation, vocational training, and adult education. Since July 1, 2024, he has been serving as Hungary’s Minister for Culture and Innovation.
