He graduated as an agricultural engineer at the University of Agricultural Sciences in Gödöllő and as a historian at the University of Pécs, where he also obtained a PhD degree. Since 1979 he has been a journalist, from 1989 to 1997 he was secretary general of MÚOSZ, in 1997-98 he worked as an antiquarian, freelance and then as a staff member of the Hungarian Democrat. He is the founding editor-in-chief of the Magyar Krónika journal and currently its editor-in-chief. His historical essays and novels have been published by Magyar Mercurius and Előretolt Helyőrség.
