Since Dan Senor & Saul Singer's 2009 bestseller “Startup Nation: The Story of Israel’s Economic Miracle” Israel has continued its record-breaking growth. Israel has become a world leader in R&D spending as a percentage of GDP (5.4%), number one in venture capital investments per capita ($2,850), and has one startup for every 1,400 residents, and 44 unicorns (startups valued at more than $1 billion). Within two decades, Singapore has also evolved from a Southeast Asian trading port to the world's fourth most innovative economy and seventh largest startup ecosystem with nearly 30 unicorns, successfully riding the rising fintech wave that provided the title for Varun Mittal's 2020 book “Singapore: The Fintech Nation”. While Estonia, with the highest number of unicorns per million inhabitants in the EU, has become its hottest and fastest-growing startup ecosystem, supported by the digitalisation of entire public services and e-citizenship – hence the title of Violaine Champetier de Ribes & Jean Spiri’s book: “The Full Digital Nation: Estonia”. Join us and learn from high-ranking policymakers, top entrepreneurs and outstanding professors from Israel, Singapore and Estonia about how to step on the path of success! The panel discussion is powered by the MCC Center for Next Technological Futures
