In an era of global scientific mobility, it is becoming increasingly important to explore how a two-way knowledge network can be established—one that integrates Hungarian young researchers working abroad and international PhD students studying in Hungary, who, upon obtaining their degrees, become young researchers in Hungary. Can we lay the foundations for a cohesive community that, in 5 to 10 years, could function as a scientific network reminiscent of the "Martians"—the legendary Hungarian scientists like János Neumann, Pál Erdős, or Leó Szilárd? A key question of the roundtable discussion is: how can Hungary become a central hub in the circulation of knowledge—where emigration and return, along with the involvement of international PhD students, are not opposing forces but building blocks of a shared, internationally competitive research ecosystem?
