Attila Szász is a Balázs Béla Award-winning film director and screenwriter. He gained international recognition as the director of historical film dramas such as Apró mesék (Little Tales), a World War II noir thriller; Örök tél (Eternal Winter), a romantic war drama; Félvilág (Halfworld), an erotic psychodrama set in the 1910s; and A berni követ (The Ambassador from Bern), a political thriller based on a hostage drama from the 1950s. His films have been honored with over one hundred awards, including an International Emmy Award. His most recent work is the series Hunyadi, one of the largest-scale European television productions of all time.
