Balázs Péterffy has dedicated over 23 years to the public education system, beginning his career as a Hungarian and history teacher. He spent nearly a decade as a homeroom teacher, head of a professional community, and educator—roles he describes as some of the most rewarding of his career. In addition to teaching, he has contributed extensively to educational publishing as a co-author, creative editor, and reviewer of several textbooks. He has also worked as a trainer and as an external collaborator and journalist for prominent publications including Magyar Nemzet, Napi Gazdaság, and Magyar Idők.
Since 2012, Balázs has been involved in the state institution maintenance system, initially serving as a district education director. Since 2016, he has held the positions of department head and, for the past seven years, deputy professional president at the Center. His qualifications include two teaching degrees, certification in Public Education Leadership, a pedagogical specialist qualification, an administrative examination certificate, and, as of June, an MBA degree.
Balázs has authored numerous articles, studies, and independent volumes addressing various facets of public education. He contributed to the development and revision of the National Core Curriculum in 2012 and 2020 and has served as an external expert and reviewer on multiple public education programs. His work focuses on initiatives that promote equal opportunities, strengthen national identity, enhance student health and safety, support pedagogical professional development, and improve institutional maintenance processes.
