Zoltán Kovács is an economist born in Transylvania. In the early phase of his career, he worked as a corporate financial consultant, later serving as a senior executive at medium and large companies in Hungary and the region. He is currently the Head of the Center for Business Studies at MCC and, since March 2023, a member of the Monetary Council of the Hungarian National Bank.

He has held ownership and executive positions in several investment and financial service companies, and has been a board member of several large corporations . He has also served as Chair of the Board of Directors at Libri-Bookline Commercial Ltd. and Chair of the Supervisory Board at the National Talent Center Ltd.

As Head of the Head of the Center for Business Studies, he engages in teaching and research activities focused on investment, corporate finance, and economic cooperation in the Carpathian Basin.

Among his other roles, he is Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Széll Kálmán Foundation, serves on the Economic Council of the Pannonhalma Archabbey, and is a member of the Supervisory Board of the foundation of the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania
