István Kovács is a Hungarian photojournalist and adult filmmaker. After graduating from high school in 1975 and completing his military service, he earned his professional qualification in photography in 1982, launching his career as a photojournalist. From 1982 to 1991, he worked as a staff photographer for Vasárnapi Hírek, one of Hungary’s prominent weekly newspapers.

In 1992, Kovács founded LUXx Video, a production company that quickly became the first in Hungary to create adult films at a professional level, utilizing trained film crews, scripted storytelling, and cinematic techniques. In 1994, he directed his first film, Hótehénke ("Snowcow"), and has since served as director and producer on hundreds of productions. His work has been recognized with 28 domestic and international awards, including four AVN Awards.

In 2015, Kovács took a creative sabbatical and is currently planning his return to the profession.
