Dr. Róbert Kőnig is a pediatric surgeon and healthcare manager. He earned his degrees in emergency care and general medicine at the University of Szeged, and later obtained qualifications in pediatric surgery, pediatric traumatology, and healthcare management at Semmelweis University.

He gained international experience in both public and private hospitals in the United Kingdom, worked at the Madarász Street Children's Hospital, and is currently the Deputy Head of the Pediatric Surgery Department at Szent János Hospital. He also practices privately in Székesfehérvár and at the Dr. Kőnig Pediatric Medical Center, which bears his name.

In March 2025, he was appointed Commissioner by the Prime Minister, with responsibility for improving patient communication and satisfaction. Known widely as “Kőnig Doki”, he has built a large social media following and is a well-known figure in public health communication. His educational children’s book “Ilyen egy kórház” ("This Is What a Hospital Is Like") became a bestseller.

He is a member of several national and international professional organizations, lead author of multiple scientific publications and presentations, and a frequent speaker at medical congresses.

His work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical Award – Special Jury Prize, the Családháló Award, the Health Literacy Award, and third place at Highlights of Hungary. His career exemplifies clinical excellence, patient-centered communication, and health education.
